Hopia"

Hopia is very popular in the Philippines and favorite snack / mirienda, it is a type of sweet flaky pastry filled with choice of desired fillings such as sweetened mung bean (hopiang munggo) sweet purple yam (hopiang ube) or hopiang baboy (in my own version of hopiang baboy I ust used a lot of vegetable oil and young spring onions, toasted sesame seeds and sweetened or candied kundol...

                                                                Ingredients:
                                         Hopia filling:
                                        2 cups Halayang Ube
                                          (sweet purple yam)
                                        Hopiang Baboy Ingredients:
                                        spring young onions
                                       1 1/2 cups flour
                                       1 cup sugar
                                       1 cup sweetened kundol (optional)
                                         (cut in small pieces)
                                       1/2 cup toasted sesame seeds (optional)
                                       2 cups water
                                                     Hopia dough;
                                         dough (1)           dough (2)
                               2 cups flour            1/2 cup flour
                               1/4 tsp salt              1/2 cup sugar
                               1/2 cup oil              1/2 cup shortening
                               1/2 cup water         1/2 cup butter
