Ginataang Munggo at Malagkit (please watch video below for procedure)
2 cups glutinous rice washed and drain
1 1/2 cups mung beans (toasted)
2 cans coconut milk (plus water)
1 1/2 cups white sugar
1 cups jack fruit (optional)
(cut into sm. bits)
Heat pan and place mung beansToast the beans until dark brown
(for about 3 to 5 minutes)
(it si more easy to break the beans)
Place the beans in water to remove
the beans skins or bean peels
Remove from water and drainIn a large cooking pot
Combine coconut milk and water
And bring to a boil
After stirring for one minute
Add toasted mung beans
After 30 minutes cooking
Add jack fruit and sugar
And cook for another 10 minutes
Adding thick fresh coconut milk
(kakang gata) on top of ginataang munggo
makes it more tasty and delicious
