Ginisang Chayote recipe
(please watch video below for cooking procedure)
Ingredients:
2 medium chayote
100 grams pork
150 grams shrimps
2 cloves garlic minced
1/2 cup onion chop
1/2 cup tomatoes chopped
ground black pepper
salt
1 tbsp patis (fish sauce)
1/2 cup shrimps juice
(from shrimps shells)
1 tbsp cooking oil
Place pork in a pan with 1/4 cup of water
over medium heat until pork tender
and some fat from pork comes out
Push pork in side of pan, then add oil
saute garlic until light brown then add onion
and cook stirring until medium cooked
add tomatoes, saute mixture,continue
stirring, then recombine pork
Add soup stock, pepper and salt
stirring continuously
Add patis or fish sauce
Add Chayote stir
Cover and simmer for few minutes
Add shrimps juice, cover again
and let come to a boil for few seconds
taste and correct seasoning
Turn off the heat,
Avoid not to over cooked vegetable
It is good serve if bit crunchy but not hard
