Filipino Cooking in Japan; Kalamay Ube in syrup- it is a type of another traditional Filipino Kakanin made of glutinous rice flour and Ube halaya(sweet purple yam)steamed and served with mixture of pandan and langka(jack fruit) flavored syrup.
Ube kalamay in syrup

Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups glutinous flour
1 1/2 cups ube halaya (sweet purple yam)
2 to 3 tbsp white sugar
1/2 cup water
1 can coconut milk for latik
For Syrup;
1/2 cup pandan water
1/2 cup langka syrup in can
1 cup white or light brown sugar
1/2 cup langka(jack fruit) cut into strips
1 tsp vanilla extract or essence
